Afternoon all,
I am currently working on a project in Thailand and we are using AWS D1.1 & AWS D1.5.
I was of the understanding that D1.5 is more stringent than D1.1 but the SAW essential variables have me confused.
D1.5 2008 Table 5.3 (5) states an increase of one standard size in electrode diameter is acceptable but AWS D1.1 2008 Table 4.5 (10) states any increase in nominal filler metal diameter is an essential variable and therefore unacceptable without requalification.
Any assistance greatly appreciated,
