Would a Miller Big D 40 cc/cv be a goood unit to run a MK products, push pull mig unit. Also would it be a good combination for pipe line work? Thanks Jim

If the Big 40 has a 14 pin plug on the front the MK should hook right up to it and work very well. As for pipe line welding the new style Big 40 is a much better pipe welder than machines that are 3 years old. This is because of the Arc Drive that we added last year.

I believe MK products make the Lincoln COBRAMATIC. It is a superb push - pull wire feeder. Talking with my welder repair man, he believes it to be no problem at all to wire my Cobramatic to run on my Miller or Lincoln machines. This is something we talked about doing a month ago. The point being that even if it isn't factory wired you can easily make it work. The big 40 is in my opinion a good machine. It will do everything you are asking of it and more.

Respectfully,
