AWS Aerospace code questions

I have some questions regarding the AWS Aerospace code. Are the following essential variables: Position qualified, deletion of filler metal, transfer mode for GMAW, and type of wire brushes used for cleaning base metal and in between passes?

I guess we can assume your discussing AWS D17.1

Just provide us a bit more information.

Are you asking about procedure qualification or production restrictions??

First and most important.. You **Need** a copy of the code if you are going to qualify procedures or qualify welders for production.

In many cases D17 defers to AWS B2.1 for procedure qualification... If you have a copy of that you will find some answers.

You can't meet "code" unless you have a copy by your side to refer to.

I understand that I need a copy to make a decision on whether our vendor is qualified to the code and currently I do not have that code right now to make such a decision. This is for procedure qualification and I was just wondering if these are essential variables that need to be on addressed on his PQR and WPS?

I don't know about the wire brush, but the rest of them look reasonable.
