Does all stainless to mild steel need to be qualified by testing or is there any opening for prequalification? Specifically, we are going to be welding A276, type 304 to A572 grade 50.
The only way I can see out of qualification would be to purchase an SWPS... If there is an SWPS that covers your materials, joints, process and required variables.
All production must fall within the ranges set forth in the SWPS to be in compliance
