have a new 300 D only have a couple thousand hrs. on it.  never had any problems tell the last couple of weeks.  The thing is that when you strike an arc it won't idle-up.  You can see little sparks if you look really close with your naked eye, even if you put the stinger directly on your ground it still won't idle up.  If you click your grider button the machine will idle up then you are good to go.  That becomes a pain when your holding something to tack up.  I was just wondering if anyone can pinpoint the problem.  Thanks once again for any responses.  This forum is my go to place for all my problems.  Thanks for all your help boys!

the remote switch is in the corect position.  I don't know anything about the machine other than how to weld with it so don't even k now where the brushes are but I will take a look at it.  The machine is still under warranty so I will just take it in when work slows a bit.  I was just wondering if there was something simple that I could fix myself.   Thanks fellas

Enter your code number and some manuals will come up for you.  Brushes are under that round cover on the end of generator under by the controls.
