Henry,
Last Saturday, Brazilian newspapers reported that on the bottom of the Baltic sea it was found a British submarine that was sunk during the first world war. She  left her base on May 31, 1916, and it's believed that sinking happened on June, 1916.
The submarine was in good state of conservation; the possible reason is that the Baltic sea water has little salinity and little dissolved oxygen, so is less corrosive than usual sea water. She belonged to the M13 class and the crew was made up of 3 officers and 15 sailors.
As the German navy during the first world war didn't announce having sunk a British submarine in the Baltic sea during June, 1916, it is believed that sinking occurred because the submarine was navigating on the sea surface and hit a German mine.
The submarine was detected months ago, but it was only last week that the divers could reach it.
Well, that's all Brazilian newpapers said about that.

Hi Giovanni!

Here's what I've been able to come up with so far on this submarine:

Here's an interesting account of this Submarine:

Here is a link on the history of British Subs and this on in particular describes the Baltic campaign in WWI:

These links should give you some more details on the matter... Thank you for bringing this to my attention because until you mentioned it, I had not heard of it and I also know that they will not attempt to raise it out of respect to the souls lost and now found! ;)

Respectfully,
Henry

Hello professor how is the academic world treating you in Brazil? I'm curious does your school run on semesters similar to most American institutions?

Depends.
Most colleges, as Mackenzie where I teach, run on semesters. Others, as USP (the Sao Paulo State University) run yearly.
Being a professor when you're over 60 has a great advantage: you're among youngsters all the time and this prevents you from getting old (mentally, of course).
