We will be developing a procedure to weld ASTM A668 Grade K to ASTM A572 Grade 50 using FCAW in the near future. Have any of you out there had the "pleasure" of this combination? We have never welded on any grade A668. I am looking for starting points like filler metal, preheat, interpass temperature, and PWHT. Your experiences, guidance, and advice would be greatly appreciated.
