I'd post it over there but they have this thing about guys posting stuff that's not theirs. They like taking them 12v's and hot rodding the heck out of them, sled pullers, you name it, some guys are even putting 24 valve heads on them! The 5.9 Cummins is the 350 chevy of diesel engines. Look on the side of the engine block, you'll have to crawl under the front of the front tire(driver side), look just above the oil pan about 1/4 to halfway down. Make sure you don't see a "53" cast onto the block. Or at least know if it is or not. I'm not sure if the 96 had the 53 block or not, might have been later. They were mexico blocks and a little thin and had a tendancy to crack and leak water. The numbers are about an inch or so tall, can't miss them if it is a 53, if no 53 your good.
