Any of you have a recommendation on wire straighteners?

got an automated GMAW unit that is blowing tolerances because the cast of the wire is causing it to wander about 0.020-0.040" to one side.

I found http://www.howarequipment.com/wire%20straighteners.htm
and http://www.toolfetch.com/p-k281.shtml

but I have no idea about reliability and build quality this thing will get used heavily in a production setting

wire diameter is 0.035 off the top of my head

Joel,

I have run into similar difficulty with Semi-auto GTAW on knife edge airseals..

MC grade wire is a good start..  also an improved feeder tip may be a possible solution.

You could give my friend Gregg at Percision Welding Technologies a message about your problem..  He is top in the world with semi-auto GTAW and Micro plasma..

Tell him Larry B.  Says Hi.

Metarinka,

I have had really good success with my old TAK wire straighteners.  I believe the company has changed hands, but still make the same design.  I use a #2 2-plane wire straightener.  It can be found at https://www.novoprecision.com/products/wire-straightener-bearings-and-wire-straightener-accessories/  I have also heard good things about Witels Albert and Sjogren but have no personal experience.
