Subject: Obama Takes First Step in Banning All Firearms
On Wednesday Obama Took the First Major Step in a Plan to Ban All Firearms in the United States

On Wednesday the Obama administration took its first major step in a plan to ban all firearms in the United States . The Obama administration intends to force gun control and a complete ban on all weapons for US citizens through the signing of international treaties with foreign nations. By signing international treaties on gun control, the Obama administration can use the US State Department to bypass the normal legislative process in Congress. Once the US Government signs these international treaties, all US citizens will be subject to those gun laws created by foreign governments. These are laws that have been developed and promoted by organizations such as the United Nations and individuals such as George Soros and Michael Bloomberg. The laws are designed and intended to lead to the complete ban and confiscation of all firearms.

The Obama administration is attempting to use tactics and methods of gun control that will inflict major damage to our 2nd Amendment before US citizens even understand what has happened. Obama can appear before the public and tell them that he does not intend to pursue any legislation (in the United States) that will lead to new gun control laws, while cloaked in secrecy, his Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton is committing the US to international treaties and foreign gun control laws. Does that mean Obama is telling the truth? What it means is that there will be no publicized gun control debates in the media or votes in Congress. We will wake up one morning and find that the United States has signed a treaty that prohibits firearm and ammunition manufacturers from selling to the public. We will wake up another morning and find that the US has signed a treaty that prohibits any transfer of firearm ownership. And then, we will wake up yet another morning and find that the US has signed a treaty that requires US citizens to deliver any firearm they own to the local government collection and destruction center or face imprisonment.

This is not a joke nor a false warning.. As sure as government health care will be forced on us by the Obama administration through whatever means necessary,  so will gun control.

U.S. reverses stance on treaty to regulate arms trade

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States reversed policy on Wednesday and said it would back launching talks on a treaty to regulate arms sales as long as the talks operated by consensus, a stance critics said gave every nation a veto.

The decision, announced in a statement released by the U.S. State Department, overturns the position of former President George W. Bush's administration, which had opposed such a treaty on the grounds that national controls were better.

Ok.  I would think by the mere paranoia associated with the post that you and whomever you received the email from has never read the Reuters article.

Personally, I didnt even read but about half of the email.  Much less Rueters. I have my own belief. Being able to hit your target is gun control ! And, Do you know the saying about "prying my cold dead fingers from the trigger" ? That is all of the reading ANYONE needs to do to get my opinion. I will NEVER  believe that I will see (in my lifetime) anyone go door to door and confiscate weapons here in the US. If they do COME ON ! I dont want to be here anyway. BUT, I will not go alone !

I read the article. Did it change my mind thet the Government only wants to control us in the long run, NO WAY! This article is no different than any other political BS article out there.
I agree with Cactus and most AMERICANS, Gun Control is being able to hit your target!

Gun bans will do nothing to stop crime or terrorism. Historically everywhere gun bans have been made into law the crime in that place has gone up, some places more than 200%. The only reason Government wants to control guns is so they can control us, PERIOD!!! Only the law abiding people will abide by the rules and regulations that the Government places on anything. There will always be a black market for criminals to purchase guns, this will never change. If these idiots really wanted to deter crime and do something for the good they would require that every Head of Household have a shotgun or handgun.

Your giving obama to much credit for intelligence.
Some excerpts from the article:

"While praising the Obama administration's decision to overturn the Bush-era policy and to proceed with negotiations to regulate conventional arms sales, some groups criticized the U.S. insistence that decisions on the treaty be unanimous

"Governments must resist US demands to give any single state the power to veto the treaty as this could hold the process hostage during the course of negotiations. We call on all governments to reject such a veto clause," said Oxfam International's policy adviser Debbie Hillier.

The proposed legally binding treaty would tighten regulation of, and set international standards for, the import, export and transfer of conventional weapons.

Nations would remain in charge of their arms export control arrangements but would be legally obliged to assess each export against criteria agreed under the treaty. Governments would have to authorize transfers in writing and in advance.

Arms exporters China, Russia and Israel abstained last year in a U.N. vote on the issue.

The U.S. lobbying group the National Rifle Association has also opposed the treaty."

To start with, there is the U.S. demand for any single state to VETO. That by itself assures it will never happen between China, Russia, and Israel.
The chief reason the NRA doesn't like it is that if it ever did happen, all imports would cease to exist overnight. I have a problem with that myself, but again, for the single state veto clause, nothing is going to pass. However; looking at worst case scenario, the largest private market in the world (U.S.) has already taken steps to mitigate it. Every major manufacture already has manufacturing plants in the states.

In the big picture, four countries supply the vast majority of conventional arms to the world. (5 if you include Brazils burgeoning industry) Those are the U.S., Russia, China, and Israel. Three of which abstained and want no part of this thing, imagine that.

So in effect, Obama has tossed out a red herring to his liberal base (bryon lewis for instance) and as usual has neither created a solution or taken a stand on his own.
obama is no different that bush. Neither would be willing to give up a multibillion dollar arms trade willingly, they would be crucified at the stake (this btw is the reason major arms manufactures such as SW, Colt, Remington, and many more maintain facilities in otherwise second amendment hostile states, they make more money of the international trade than they do from domestic with the inherent tax income ) The only real difference is obama had to find a way to make it look like he's doing something when he's doing nothing (as usual). My opinion.

Gerald

They can have mine.... I'll give them the bullets first!!   Besides the u.s. has put more firearms in terrorist hands than any citizen or group of citizens.  There is no goverment organization large enough to physically take every citizens fire arms. Not to metion enough prision cells, Nor would the citizens of this country stand for it!!  Some "good ole boy"  would use a .308 round  to vote a new head of state in..

It's all fear mongoring,  Fear is what they hope will boost the economy...quik everybody go buy all the guns you can, all the ammo to.   That's why you have a hard time finding your favorite deer round at wal-marts this year and why guns go for more money at auctions than it cost to buy a new one!

What we need is for the price of fuel to go up!

I would like to see someone go into "Henrys ghetto"  and round up all the fire arms.  Then after that come get the "country boys" rifles to.  Better bring furlong with ya when you come!

One shot one kill???  not me... I'm more of you can run but you'll just die tired !  kinda of guy
