Just curious what electrodes are "favorites".... I may want to give them a try.

Here are mine:

7018 - Hobart 718MC

6010 - Lincoln 5P+

E71T-1 - Select Arc 720

E70T-1 - Outershield 70

E71T-8 - Lincoln NR 232

E71T-11 - Lincoln NR 211

Non-thoriated DC TIG - 2% La

High current AC TIG - 2% La

Low current AC TIG - 2% La with advanced machine or pure with traditional

Solid wires - don't really care as long as they are domestic

I've got about 50lbs. of La Grange 70. My Dad bought them about 20 yrs ago . What are they good for . If I remember right they were kind of expensive and welded like a 6013.

I think you are right about LaGrange 70 being like 6013 being just a all purpose type rod.  Here is a link to a place that sells LaGrange rod.  All their rod was always expensive I've thought but still got some of their super gold rod that still works like it did new and it has to be 5 years old or older.  I'll probably never buy any of it again but their big selling point on it was their rod works better with a AC welder and I've used enough of it to know it does but I don't think it's worth paying that much for now.  It cost like gold and leaves a bead with a gold color after chipping.

My favoritest electrodes of all time is when I walk around at the end of the day and see rod buckets full of nice short stubs. Usually 70+'s but any flavor will do.
Aaaahhhhhh. I love lot's of rod stubs.
