How difficult is it to UT a T-joint that is a CJP bevel with a fillet reinforcment and a fillet on the back side, oh and the whole thing is hot-dip galvanized?

T joints with reinforcing fillets are pretty standard structural joints to UT. The galvanization must be removed from the scanning surface prior to testing though.

That T-joint is pretty standard like mentioned, but many a joint have been tested with the hot dip coating still in place. I UT any joints that I suspect after galvanizing, due to the problems we have had in the past. I MT first and then UT, because most of my findings are found with MT on galvanized materials. I have some columns that have the shaft full pen'd to the base plate, out for galvanizing right now. I MT'd and UT'd the rat holes and the welds before they left my shop and will repeat the inspections when they get back from being galvanized.
