Does anyone have any experience working with AS1554.5 & UT spec. AS2207?
I am interested in comparison comments versus the AWS D1.1 code.

(I am awaiting delivery of the Ausi standards)

Thanks-

Hi bill!

I believe Shane Feder is more than likely the resident "Aussie" expert in here, and I'm sure he'll find this post later on today. ;)

Respectfully,
Henry

Thanks Henry,
Bill,
PM me your e-mail and I will send you a comparison chart between AWS D1.1 and AS/NZS 1554.1.
AWS D1.1 is roughly equivalent to AS/NZS 1554.1 (Welding of Steel Structures)
AWS D1.5 is more in line with AS/NZS 1554.5 (Welding of Steel Structures subject to high levels of Fatigue Loading)
Not had a lot of experience with AS 2207 but one thing I do remember is one code measures the depth of a discontinuity and the other one measures the length.
Built a large dragline (American manufacturer) in Australia years ago and the welds had to be tested to AWS D1.1 / AS/NZS 1554.1. Basically had to be tested twice because of the differences in the evaluation criteria.
Regards,
Shane
