Well I finally got around to testing the athermal  schott lens  #10 gold
I  bought one cause some other people were bragging about it's clarity.
I burned 5p+ 1/8 and 5/32  downhill on a sch 40  6"
burned a couple of rods with the gtaw process on a sch 40 6 "

In my opinion i liked  the old a/o inlaid gold lens much better . I really
didn't notice any improvement over a standard glass lens . it seemed
a little on the darkside for a # 10. I'll stick with my miller elite its hard to go back to flipping a hood
after using an automatic. I didn't have my pancake with me perhaps that would make a difference.
I left the lens with the welding instructor at local 250 to see if  any
of the newbies like it. I'll give more feedback when i get some   Joe

Big fan of the miller elites, Also they can do "half shades" and set the tint anywhere between the numbers which I'm a big fan of.
