hi all. ok i know R and RM hoses are for acetylene only and that T can be used for all fuel gases. What i dont know is what exactly do R, RM, and T stand for. Is there a meaning or are they just desiginators.

Grade R for acetylene only. Tube and cover are not flame resistant and not oil resistant.
Grade RM for acetylene only. Tube is not flame resistant and not oil resistant. Cover is flame and oil resistant.
Grade T for most fuel gases, including acetylene. Tube and cover are flame and oil resistant.
Also
Type L is single line, for light duty serice.
Type S is single line, for standard duty service.
Type H is single line, for heavy duty service.
Type VD is vulcanized double line (twinned).
