THIS WILL BE A SEMINAR (FREE) THAT WILL PROVIDE INFORMATION ABOUT OSHA REQUIREMENTS REGARDING HEXAVALENT CHROMIUM STANDARDS. THIS LECTURE WILL SHOW AFFECTED INDUSTRIES, COMPLIANCE DIRECTIVES AND TIME LINES. ALSO, WE WILL HAVE A PRESENTATION FROM A QUALIFIED TESTER, HE WILL GIVE A PRESENTATION ON THE PROCEDURES FOR TESTING ACTUAL WORK SPACES. IN ADDITION, THIS SEMINAR WILL PROVIDE HANDS ON DISPLAY OF THE EQUIPMENT USED FOR FUME EXTRACTION.
SPEAKER:
A short summary of the presentation that will provided: Mr. Leo Hearn, CIH, CSP, CET, CIT, President of Scientia Solutions will provide an analysis of the employer's obligations under the OSHA Hexavalent Chromium Standard, with specific emphasis on the welding and fabrication workplace. Mr. Hearn has been in the occupational safety and health field since 1984, and has worked with numerous employers to implement controls strategies for health and safety hazards. The presentation will provide specific actions each employer can take to determine the presence of hexavalent chromium in the workplace, techniques for quantifying the risk, and proven methods to reduce employee exposure.
