We have some 15" OD aluminum pipe that we're welding (0.160" wall).  The tubes are each roughly 6' long and we're circumferentially welding them together into one 36' long tube.  We are utilizing an electronically controlled jetline rotary headstock to control the rotation and a free standing headstock on the other side for support.  The free standing headstock has an air powered ram that applies pressure to the headstock in order to help fit the tubes together correctly.  However, this doesn't work for us in most cases and we end up using long furniture clamps attached to each headstock to bring the tubes in tighter.

I'm curious as to what other equipment manufacturers are out there that make equipment and tooling for pipe welding.  I'm hoping to get some better ideas on how to properly support and bring these parts together so that we don't have to fight these issues.

Thanks.
