When you order the raw materials make sure you ask for the certified material test report. The material test report will list the appropriate material specifications, i.e., ASTM, ASME, AMS, etc. for that material. It will also list the material's mechanical properties such as ultimate tensile strength, yield point, ductility, and it will list the actual chemistry for your material. Armed with that information it is a relatively easy task to look up the material specification and M number in B2.1.
