With reference to Note 31 of Table 4.5 "A change in groove type ( eg single V to Double V)except qualifications of any CJP groove weld qualifies for any groove detail conforming to the requirements of 3.12 or 3.12" We have a qualified PQR which was conducted as a single V joint welded from one side with no backing. Does AWS D1.1 allow a WPS to be taken from this for a) a single bevel joint preperation and b) a double bevel joint preperation as long as the tolerances of figure 3.4 for the applicable joint configuration are met?
