Dear All, For Weld Hardox Steel wich code should i refer to? cause at AWS D1.1 para. 1.2(1)only cover steels with less than 690 Mpa. please advice, thanks.
It would depend on what the application is. If the job specifications do not reference a fabrication code, D1.1 would be an appropriate choice for a structural application. We use Hardox for blades in large fans to provide a bit more wear resistance to fly ash than mild steel. D14.6 is used for that application. Which grade of Hardox are you using?
We used for screening plate at screening station, nickel mining. it would be the structural part, i ask about the limitation of D1.1, it's cover or not?
I believe Hardox conforms to ASTM A514, but you will need to look at either the mill test reports or check their website to confirm. This is one of the base metals that is not prequalified, so a procedure qualification would be required.
