Up Topic American Welding Society Services / Certifications / A513 Qualification???

I had an audit recently and the auditor brought up the fact that our company does not have Welding Procedure's for ASTM A513.
The A513 is primarily .095 and .120 Round Tube for our Handrail.

A513 is not recognized in D1.1 Table 3.1 as a prequalified base metal.

Given the thickness of the Round Tube, i was wondering what Code should be used to qualify the WPS's???

Regard's

Hi David,
Regardless of the fact that A513 wasn't included in the D1.1 Table for qualified base materials or not, the material thickness you mentioned is out of the scope for D1.1. Possibly D1.3 would suit better as the code to write the WPS to, mainly because it covers the material thicknesses that you mentioned.
