Need assistance in sourcing filler metal and codes and standards to AMS and MIL STD's. Is there a web site for AMS and related materials?

Thanks-
John

ASTM/SAE publishs a reference

"Metals & Alloys in the Unified Numbering System".

It covers bout all the Conventions I ever heard of in the USA,
ASM, AMS, ASME, MIL, Federal, ASTM ACI, AISI, SAE, AWS & AA.

AMS is listed as a joint convention -SAE/Areospace Materials Specification.

Try http://www.sae.org/servlets/index

Thanks Ron. I am looking for the following filler metal descriptions by AWS class, F No., A No., SFA, etc. which I can cross over: AMS 4770, 4772, 5832, 5876, 3411, 3410 and AMS-W-6858.

A4770 Silver Brazing Alloy (Silver Solder) AWS A5.8 (BAg-1a) ASME SFA5.8
ASME uses "SFA" where AWS is just "A"
A4772 Same as above different chemistry (BAg-36)

A5832 Inconel 718 AWS A5.14 (ERNiFeCr-2)
A5876 Elgiloy AWS A5.21 (ERCoCr-F)

I have no info on the other numbers.

Do you have any more info on them? Like chemistry or usage, it might help.
