Just wondering if any of you guys have the new ford engine?  If so how does it compare to the new Chevys or Dodges?

i have a friend with 2011 ford and hasnt had any problems and has lots of power.  i got an 08 dodge with 6.7 and has tons of power but sucks some fuel down.  its only geting around 14mpg.  i got 60,000 miles and that 6.7 is like a woman, one day it runs good and the next day its PMSing.

Get rid of that polution crap blocking the exhaust system and you'll get better fuel mileage. DPF delete is what I think they call it.

I just got my 2011 monday. Has plenty of power but you can't tell it because it is so smooth. It almost feels like it's electric powered. It does sound like it is knocking at idle though. Only has 400 miles on it but the screen on the dash says 15.4 mpg so far with a CM bed Big Blue 300 and tanks on it. I would still perfer all the features in the new truck but with a 7.3 Power Stroke under the hood.

you cant beat that 7.3   my dad has a 02 with 260,000 miles and has only changed the oil in it, never been in the shop.  they dont make them like they used to.

Ya i had a 03 7.3 and traded it in with 247,000.  It was a great truck!  I have a 08 6.7 dodge and yes i have noticed that it drives great one day and so so the next, but it still has plenty of power.  I have just been wondering about these new motors.

I have an 01 and an 02. and absolutely no plans of getting rid of them.

Agree with that, I've got an 02' Dogde 5.9 and don't want anything newer than that!
