another really good website is this here http://www.weldingtipsandtricks.com/ and he has videos on youtube. The guy seems to know quite a bit. AWS is great but there are guys like this one and welders lens that give you just a little more in there videos. You can talk about it all day long on here but if you can watch a video of someone actually doing it, it's even better. I'm a real visual person I need to really see alot of this stuff to understand it.

I'm with you, if I see it i've got it. Once I see it I can do it, and then if some one describes a better or differant way verbally I understand what they mean.
Oh, and I agree, AWS.ORG is #1. I've learned a lot lurking in the shadows here!!
