A full open joint. That is one I've not heard of before.

I guess we're supposed to guess what that is.

Yes, unless it is full closed on one side, but open on the other, in which case the closed side can be partially opens and the full open side partially closed so you end up with a partially opened fully closed open corner joint.

I would guess that it is totally open to the interpretation of our closed minds as to the application of the open joint in question.

I wonder, OP, could you give us a picture before we wonder way out of the subject area here?

Have a Great Day,  Brent

I will take a stab at it.......the fella is referring to a 90 corner joint with the close edges touching.  What do you call that officially?  I do not think you can call it anything without a drawing.   a picture of the joint would stop all the subjugation on the matter!!!

"A picture is truly worth at least a thousand words!" Please show us what you are attempting to describe verbally without much success. ;)

Respectfully,
Henry

HI HENRY!!!!

How is the fishing going brother??   Cold enough for ya up there>?  Got down around a constant 80 degree center here (weird weather) so it is perfect for fishing, drawing my unemployment and picking my bait, life is good I reckon.

Tommy,
You are going to have to give me the skinny on fishing holes down there! LOL  IF I have any time. :-)

Hi guys,
Would an "open" corner joint possibly be a corner joint with a root gap ????
Cheers,
Shane

Hi Shane,
I was picturing a corner joint in my head with the "V" open to the outside....could also be with an open root as you suggest. We need a picture/drawing to make any thing other than just a guess.

John you WILL BE SKINNY if you use my fishing advice!!  Most of the time all I catch are those 12 oz bottlefish...they are easy to clean too.  Never hit any places near where you are except for Degray lake...you need a boat there for sure.  Lake Quachita is a good place to go, big lake, big fish.

The Joint is not prohibited but it is not prequalified either.
Is this what you mean?
Good Luck Marshall
