I am some what new to welding as in I have only used wire feed and smaller Miller and Lincoln stick welders.  Iam at a new job where I was just turned loose with a 300D Classic wich I know nothing about.  It is being used for welding in steel stairs half inch plate steel amterial.  How do I adjust the heat.  The last time it was used it was used on light steel and of course I need deeper penetration.  Thanks for any info available.

First off, "WELDCOME TO THE WORLD'S GREATEST WELDING FORUM!!! :) :) :)"

Now that you have been "WELDCOMED," you might want to take a read of this operator's manual I took the liberty of including into this post... You'll want to read "B-2" on page 14 titled "Welding Operation" in order to find the specific answer to your query, and yet I also recommend that you read the entire manual including the front page which lists the serial number to which this specific "Operator's Manual" is referring to...

If the serial numbers shown in the 1st manual do not correspond with the serial number of your machine, or the same brand engine (Example: Kubota, Perkins) and if it has a wire feed option or not, then go to the second link I posted below to find the corresponding .pdf document which best matches the description of your machine.

The link to access the 1st manual in .pdf format is here:

I hope this will help you out.

Respectfully,
Henry
