I know this is kinda a random pointless question but i am just curious on what electrode holder you guys/gals use?
I have been using nothing but Tweco "tong" electrode holders for years now..... but lately I have been trying out different electrode holders and i have found some other styles/brands that i like alot more.  Dont know why i never tried anything else before now.
Just wondering what brand/style electode holder you guys like best.
Thanks.

Tweco, only because thats what my father used for 30+ years. I think he may have used jackson, but perferred tweco. I guess its time to try another brand.

I've used many kinds and brands but the Lenco duroholder has surpassed many hours of rod burning and will always hang on my rig.

I have used the DURO for about 15 years. I love'em !

Tweco or Lenco both are great. Don't like the Jackson because if you bend your rods alot the jaws wear out fast the round radius of the jaws quickly develop grooves.

Never really thought about it, but in all honesty whatever fits in my hand, holds the welding rod like it's supposed. Think the one I got now is a Lenco? Tweco? Airgas brand? Has a handle and tongs to hold the welding rod, works for me! LoL!

Bernard  "short stub"

I like to look at the box to see where it was made. But no matter what I've tried, I end up with Tweco, even though the  jaws wear out too soon.

Bernard Short Stub with Handle Cut off so that only about 1" of handle covers cable connection which is wrapped with insulation tape. With 20' of #3 cable and used as a whip connected to 2 - 100 ft (work & electrode) of 2/0.

Actually you all are going to laugh but when I first started welding I couldn't afford a stinger so I made one. I had a 6' long lead with a quick connect on one end and a lug on the other. I took a pair of vice grips and un-screwed the deal off of the back and ran it thru the lug and screwed it back on. Worked pretty good for quite awhile!

Lincoln T300 custom cutdown for stinger and also a T300 for ground too works good for me!

Tweco 250 amp for stinger and a T300 for the ground. I have used a T300 and a duro-holder for stingers but I think the tweco is the fastest and safest (arc burns).

LOL.... This is how i have always thought with all my welding equipment, Ive always just used whatever was there. Nowdays i have been putting more thought into trying different styles/types/brands of equipment and i have been having a lot of fun doing it.
I have been trying all the latest and greatest stuff that the welding supply salesman brings in.... some of it is great... some not so great... spent a lot of money lately on different stuff, but it sure is fun and has been worthwhile.

I bounce around so much doing stuff off the truck as a....gulp, temporary employee that it's usually just whatever they have with the machine. Some better than others but never really thought about it much. I typically buy one and run it til it's busted up and ain't worth having, then buy another. Key for me is to take good care of it so I don't have to buy another one for a long time.

I like the Duro holders too. But the screws are always backing out. I guess I should Locktite them.

Well thats the first thing I do with the Duro holder is Loctite the screws cause they're notorious for those insulators coming off.

Tweco 200 amp.

I tried to like the Lenco as it is US made, however I just prefer the design of the Tweco.

I use a Tweco 200amp stinger as well.  The clamp style of stinger sure saves a lot of pussy footing around.

I had a lenco, but the tong insulators cracked within 2 days and that was the end of that!

I like the 250 a lot better.
