Anyone have any other tricks besides Lincoln Bulletin E695.1.
http://www.alaska.edu/uaf/cem/ine/autc/reports_docs/INE_TRC_94_20.pdf
It is under appendix 2.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Kent

The Lincoln information is similar too but coveres it much better than the section in the Forny welder book.

CK Systematics used to make a pipe thawing transformer, but I have never seen the literature on it.

Get DC amp probe to monitor current. Insurance co's hate pipe thawing with welders, it can really be a possibility to get alternate pathways on electric systems, will turn a number 6 ground wire hot, can be hidden in walls, etc even on neighbors house in residential settings etc. Especially at high currents.
I did one a while back where they call me vs the company welder, they were kind of scared of it and I been doing it long time with some study of the potential issues involved, etc. The pic is kind of crude drawing but happens with old steel screwed pipe on occasion, not such a problem with rolled copper. Where is says water that was intended to show city water main.
