A customer of ours has been directed to perform weld inspection which includes a step exposing the sample to a mixture of Nitric Acid and ethanol.  Can someone direct me to where this soluton can be purchased, or do people typically blend their own?

I think there was a reference in the link above to a place to purchase the acid online. I got a small quantity from a local community college to do the few etchings that I do here at work. A little goes along way.

Make sure you read the MSDS for storeing and disposing of used acid before you bring it into any company.  It cost more for me to have it than it does to have an outside company etch dozens of times!!
