Happy New Year to AWS members,

My first question for 2011 is: What welding process would you use for repair work on high carbon steel components (SAE 1055) in order to provide low heat input during welding?
Can you put welding processes in sequence order as per heat input they provide under same condition?

Thanks

Depends upon what you mean by conditions. If you provide the same conditions (wire size, travel speed, current type, etc.) there won't be any equational heat input difference and there won't be enough real heat input difference to worry about.
The real issue for different processes is that conditions are seldom the same. And its the conditional differences you take advantage of.
