I'm fixing to take the ASME Section IX, B31.1 and B31.3 endorsement code test. I currently have a 2008 B31.3 edition. AWS is offering the test in the 2006 do you think my edition would be close enough? Second does anyone out there have a used copy they would sell in Section IX and B31.1 in 2007 editions?

I took my test with a 2008 Edition of B31.3. You should be fine.

I am also taking this exam next week. I have Section IX 2010, B31.1 2007, and B31.3 2008. I hope the Test Supervisor will allow them to be used.

Get there early and get a yay or nay. Worse case scenario I've seen is that the proctors will help you coordinate with others and get someone to loan you theirs while scheduling you two in different time slots.
Remember to bring everything on the list. I hate those giveaway flashlights. I forgot to pack my calculator, but managed to borrow one from the front desk clerk at my hotel on the way to the test site. It was one of those arithmetic only big button ones. But beat the hell out of long handing it.
Best of luck to both of you.

Those of us woking the exams in AZ carry extra calculators, pencils, erasers, and other items that may be needed for the exam.

As far as books, I see no reason that scheduling can't be rotated to share materials.

Have a Great Day,  Brent
