- By M Baker (**) Date 02-15-2011 15:45
Completely new curriculum has been released from the experts at Hobart Institute.   Revised with all new arc shots and graphics, the program addresses such topics as an introduction to SMAW pipe downhill, reading the weld puddle for downhill travel, joint preparation and assembly for downhill pipe, pipeline construction and welding as it applies to downhill pipe, visual inspection and destructive testing, as well as the safety and health of welders.  Students will also be taught how to read and apply welding procedures.  Topics cover shielded metal arc welding downhill of both two-inch and six-inch pipe.  The student workbook is now in color, which greatly improves the visual impact for the students.

The program includes: two DVDs totaling one hour 49 minutes, an instructor guide (includes one student workbook, one technical guide, and answer keys for the tests), and two written tests (50 copies of each).   Additional student workbooks may be purchased for your class. A site license is also available for this Shielded Metal Arc Welding Pipe – Downhill program.

Purchases may be made online at the Hobart website of www.welding.org or by phone, fax, or mail to:
