This was for a guy that wanted to keep a horse from climbing throgh a window.  He asked if it would work. I told him if it didn't he should just open the door, as he didnt really want her around anyway.  This was his design, not mine.  I would have increased the spacing to 4 inch on center instead of 2 inch.  It did make it hell for stout though.

At first glance I thought it was a door on a prison bus lol. Yeah, any animal that can get through that, let em go !

Dang, that is stout!!! Are you sure he's not hauling polar bears!!! Unless the horses figure out how to use blasting caps and c4 I'd say the problem is solved! Nice work!

'STOUT' is a very under rated adjective for that window grate.

Fine work.

It's only as strong as those sheet metal screws holding it on and I see one has broken with installation.

Not exactly sheet metal screws, they are TEK 5 screws that are not only self drilling, but tapping as well.  They tap the hole with #12, 24 threads.  I had the bolts to go in the holes, owner did not want that at this point as the mare causing problems leaves his place in about 45-60 days.  I was going that route so that holes were not left all the way through the door frame and the tubing was 1/4" wall.

Thanks guys.  I was thinking I will use the same design on my kids bedroom windows to keep them from the same trouble I found.

For that I would make the bars bigger and the holes smaller.  LOL!!
