Hi, All!
I'm still new to this field, and recently found out just how much commuting a weldor needs to do to keep getting jobs. My question is this: Is there such a thing as a good welding job that requires little to no commuting? I have the desire to weld, but none for the traveling that comes with it.
:)
thanks!

It depends on your location. A year and a half ago I fell into a contract inspection job at a local fabricator 4 miles from my front door. Before that I was driving 90 miles to work 12 hour days. It varies with the economy and the industry. The larger your "work radius" the more opportunities you have.

Have a nice day
