back in my days of erector engineer, a derrick was an equipment that was used to lift heavy weights. Differently from a crane, that was mobile, the derrick was stationary.
As a matter of fact, your what your photo shows seems to be a derrick boom, right?

That looks like some of the trusses I have built... lol.. Looks fun..!!  I had to build two Bow trusses then put webbing between them to tie them together for a shop crane.. They were 60ft long and built from 3in .300 wall pipe... It was a really fun job.. I will see If I can find pictures of it..  Be glad you are keeping those straight and flat.. Building a bow can be a pickle... Looks GREAT man..!!!

  What is the wall thickness on that pipe..??  It looks pretty stout..!!

All of the Leg Material on this Derrick is 4" .025 wall T-1. Cross Members are 2" Schedule 80
