Hi guys,

How do I know how much a welder should fill and the correct size of a weldolette??

Thanks!

You are not going to like this answer.
First, do a forum search. This subject has been discussed before quite extensively with some great experience by many contributors.
Also, essentially the design and designer of the O-let will determine the required fill. And you will be surprised at how little is necessary.

js55,

I just do some searches in the forums, and find out the weldolet has to be filled up to the weld line. Also they recommend the bonney forge web site and look up on the catalog for installation practices.

Thanks!

Some don't have weld lines. And the bonney forge information would only be good for bonney forge components.
And keep in mind, a O-let weld is a combination of groove and fillet.

B31.1 has some specific weld profiles for O-lets. They are bigger than you might expect under those guidelines.
