Per D1.1 Section 4.33.1 "The CVN test requirement shall apply only when specified in the contract documents"
Now, I have a project. And there is no special requirement mentioned in our technical contract or design drawings. So I think only bend and tensile test should be done and no CVN test needed.
But my collegue thought the base material used in qualification test which has CVN requirement, so we should add CVN test.
I am puzzled because there are no related words describe "if base material has CVN requirement, so dose the welding Joint" in AWS D1.1
Can someone tell me whether my understanding is right or my collegue's.
PS:The material used in our project is Q345B, a material which is similar to ASTM A572 Gr50, but with property"20℃，34J".
