What are you guys using to verify the legs and throats of fillet welds 1-1/2" and up?

The XX Large GAL gauges are very expensive.  I made my own out of sheet metal, and they worked fine.  I had 1 1/4" to 3" fillet welds to measure as well as  under fill and excess convexity on welds 4 and 5 inches wide.  I made special tools for them all out of galvanized sheet steel.

I have a set coming from galgage....$72 buckaroos plus shipping. I had been wagging it with a combo-square and tapeline on the occasional big fillet(very rare), but now I have enough of them on an upcoming job to justify the $72 bucks.

Thanks for the replies
