Does anyone know of anywhere where you can get this done?  I saw an add in the latest AWS journal for a place that does monsterous roll forming on plate and pipe, but I left the mag at home and I can't remember there name.

Thanks,
Kix

Is it a mandrel bender that can do multiple bends on one spool?

You shouldn't have that much trouble finding someone. 3" is not big. 72" is big.

It has to be bent to the same radius as a long radius 3" sch 40 90's and 45".  I have found a couple places that said they could bend my angles, but couldn't do mutiple bends on the same spool.  We haven't seen an actual built unit yet to see how it's been done in the past so we don't know what our options can be.  Some of the spools have multiple bends in them according to the drawings like they were mandrel bent.  The place I've found said that they would put waves on the inside bend radius and reduce the wall thickness on the outside of the bend by up to .156.

A 1 1/2 D bend is pretty tight by bend practice because it isn't done like fittings. You will get intrados thickening and extrados thinning ALWAYS. When thickening on the intrados gives way (not a technical term) you get buckling. Refer to PFI for tolerances. However, the thinning tolerance will be based upon allowable design thickness. An experienced bender will have bend tables that can tell him whether or not you can maintain the extrados thickness you need.

There's a place in Chicago called Chicago Metal Rolled Products. Its www.cmrp.com. Hodgson Custom Rolling is 800-263-2547 they are up in Niagera Falls, Canada. Guy I've talked to at Chicago was Gary Sheridan. Seemed like good prices especially with shipping etc.
