i am a senior at mpcc in ohio i have to do a report on why or how welds crack so if anyone knows of a website i could go to and get info pleez let me know

You could research past topic threads on this forum for some detailed information about weld cracks.
Try the boards titled "Technical" and "Shop Talk".

You also may want to look up hydrogen cracking (one cause may be improper electrode storage)

In the case of aluminum there was a book written bt Mandal that covers it extensively, including the math to calculate shrinkage. You can buy the book for about $60

I'm not sure, but from mpcc, I would guess it's a community college.
