I am looking for an antique welder for a display at the on-going restoration of the Packer Proving Grounds in Detroit, Mi. One of the areas they are working on was a repair shop that included welding. They would like to add a welder for authenticity. If anyone has a lead on one let me know. Brand is not an issue. Thanks.  I am sorry I did not give enough information. They are looking for an electric powered motor generator or transformer welder of 1927 vintage. On course electrode holder and ground clamp would like to be also period correct. If anyone has any of this type of equipment or leads let me know. Again thanks for your time.

I saw this post and decided to reply to it even though it was an old post. I have an old antique welder, just wondered if you were still looking for one.

Try googling Lincoln SAE 400 or 600 Motor/Generator.

What I suspect you are looking for is in the attachment to this post.

Hello gentlemen: I have an unusual welder that i found as a barn find a year ago.  It turns out to be an antique Wilson welder & metals co, Inc.
unit out of Hoboken, New, Jersey. They had  patents dating back to the 1890's for welding equipment. The one i have is probably from late 1920's.
200 amp dc generator welder, 25-50 volts DC, gas engine. Engine is a wisconsin V4, (VE4-1) to be exact. Crank start. engine turns over, not frozen.
Is complete, but not currently running. Spinal injury has kept me from most projects last few months. Mounted on trailer, full size wheels and tires.
has been stored in barn for last 30+ years.has mounts for torch tanks, and detachable steel tool box.

anyone have info on welder & engine, let me know. thank you kindly,  Thomas
