We have posted an analysis online of of average automotive steel weight. From an average (unladen) passenger car vehicle weight of approx 1440 kg, our assessment is that the weight of iron comes to ~130 kg, steel ~830 kg and other metals ~125 kg.

We consider that from the 830 kilograms of steel, ~667 kg comes from flat products and ~163 kg is from long steel products.
