Many brazing specifications require nickel plating of the braze joint surfaces when the combined aluminum and titanium content is over about 0.6 wt %.  Does anyone know where that limit came from?  Was there test data to support it? Should it apply only when filler is placed outside the joint and required to flow in or should it also apply when the filler is preplaced in the joint?

Hi there Matt

I would as a FIRST STEP  look through all of the WBS -27 's  (I think) to see where plating is first referenced -
