That magical time of the year is back. Seriously, FABTECH this year is going to be bigger than it has ever been. It's in Chicago from Nov. 14-17. Free admission if you register now.

The big news is that there will be seminars at the show for CWI code endorsements to the Bridge, Railroad, ASME and D1.1 Codebooks. Plus an opportunity to take the two-hour open book exam.

What an endorsement gives you is a credential that might be valuable to you, plus it fulfills your nine-year recert requirement, no matter how far in the future that is due. The half-day seminars on railroad and bridge codes and the full-day ASME Section IX seminar are not offered anywhere else, so this is an opportunity worth considering. Plus a great welding show.

Professional Programs (Filler Metals, Solid-State Processing, Shipbuilding, etc) = by the day or all four days, few hundred dollars.

Exam and Preparation Events ( Bridge Code, Railroad, ASME, D1.1, etc) = $175 for D1.5, D15.1;  $345 for ASME, D1.1, Advanced Visual Workshop)

Seminars (Metallurgy, WPS's) = $345

There are some free events: Seminar Sample Sessions, Pro Welders Open Competition, IIW Annual Assymbly, etc.

These prices are for members.  Non-members are more.

For a complete listing see the September issue of the 'Welding Journal' pages 66-70

Tim,

We'll have AWS's new tractor-trailer there with its virtual welding stations. Check that out in the North Hall near the welding contest booths.
