Diavic Diamond mine is where we are at. Nothing but fun colder then a witch's tit out side but not so bad inside the mine they are just completing their open pit operations and moving underground.
Some shots from inside a 280 ton haul truck the black dirt in the one picture is where the diamonds come from called kimberlite formed by an extinct volcano the pictures do not give a full appreciation of how deep this hole is. The shot of the pick-up is still about 200 ft from the top.

Will they build a winter road from site to Yellowknife or the terrain will just never support a road?

Winter road goes in some time in january half loads till end of feb and is closed around april may I'm told.
