Guys

Hoping I can get some process pointers. We have a project for a removable access cover. The cover is comprised of 439SS and I need to weld several A286 SS studs to it. The service is highly corrosive and High temp 500° C.  I will want to either GTAW or GMAW the studs. Can anyone offer any process information to make this joint successful ?

Thanks !

Hi cfrancis

I do not know what A286 SS studs are. Can you let me know, then maybe I can offer a suggestion. (I though it was ASTM A286, but I see this standard has been superceded.)

Regards
Niekie
