Code Case 2235 adopted?

Do not have 2010 edition with me at this time. CC-2235-6. Code Case 2235 permits the use of UT in lieu of RT at any time, under the qualifying conditions of the Code Case. In other words, the Case allows for the substitution of ultrasonic examination in lieu of radiographic examination for all welded seams in a vessel that require examination.

I know this requirement does not exist in the 2008 Edition Code.

In the ASME Sec VIII Div 1 2010 Edition, has this Code Case been adopted and incorporated?

PS Need amunition for use of UT in lieu of RT...

QCRobert, the Code Case DID exist in 2008 and still does, believe it may now be named 2235-9. Its been through an ass load of re-writes and still sucks, in my humble opinion. That said, I don't know if you need a CC for Div 1? In any case, if you wish to use the CC, you are mandated to use an AUT process; phased array or ToFD. I have a lot of history with this case as I was trying to modify it for use with B31.3 High Pressure.... Although the case started out as a VIII, Div. 1 case it now seems ruled by VIII, Div 3....

An associated code case is CC-181 I believe, which is under-going yet another re-write that may make things clearer.... (fingers crossed).....
