Which one and what brand I have a 2006 4x4 dually that I need to put them on. They make several different brands of the rubber helpers just wondering if anybody has used the other brands? And has anybody ever used them on the front?

Timbrens !!!!!! You will NEVER regret them. I have them on all of my trucks on all 4 corners. Best investment you will make !!

If you decide to go with airbags, Firestone is the way to go with a lifetime warranty.  http://www.sdtrucksprings.com

I would not buy any of the rubber helpers but Timbrens!

I knew you would say that do you buy the severe duty ones

Yes I do. It's the ONLY way to fly.

I put timbrens on mine and absolutly love them. They are easy to install and no maintenance. Go with them.

I did airbags on the rear of mine and am going to put custom coils under the front to give me 2" of lift and 1500 more pounds. As Tommy said, Firestones from SD Truck Springs and mine have been good to me so far. Check them about once a month.

On my other truck I think the springs are sagging from age so think I'll try some Timbrens on it. I have never used Timbrens but personally I would not go with anything other than Timbrens when it comes to the rubber helpers, heard to much good about them on here to use anything else.

And the timbrens are the best priced the sumo brand is 500 dollars just for the rear

Timbrens will add 9000 capacity to your Load. Airbags only add 500 MAX. You NEVER worry about the Tmbrens leaking. Airbags WILL leak

uhhh if they only added 500lbs my truck would be sitting on the axle.  5000lbs actually.  If mine leak they will replace them free of charge.  I can adjust ride and ride height almost 4 inches at the hitch...plus when I was still running a flatbed I could level uneven loads if I had to.  I have to admit if you blow one it could make for a bad day.  I will surely try out the Timbrens one day but I am not sorry at all I got the bags.

So how much did the truck squat loaded with machine and tools
Parent - - By Cactusthewelder (*****) Date 01-01-2012 22:24
None. With everything on my Bed, it's not even on the Helper Springs. My Fifthwheel has a Tongue Weight of 2400 lbs. My Hitch is 2' behind my Axle. When it is all on and hooked up, the Truck squats about 1/2" - 1". Not even enough to notice it.

So it hits the timberns before the helper leafs on your truck

Yes. It rides on the Timbrens all the time. The more you load them, the more they work

Cool I just need to how much clearence I need on my fenders when I build my bed

I had 2" on my F-350. I never even got close. Even with the trailer on

Good I'm gonna give myself more than that just to give the 4x4 its hieght appearance cause it has a lot of fender room on the front
Parent - By Cactusthewelder (*****) Date 01-02-2012 02:31
I agree. My 4x4 Dodge has about 8" rear wheel clearance

I also have timbrens on my truck and with the welding machine and the bed plus all the tools, I am at 4000 pounds and last month I had to load a 4000 pound pump on the back. the truck sagged about an inch lower than normal.
I would definitely go with the timbrens.
