does anyone know what CAT diesel engine they put in miller welders.  i know its 3cyl and 22hp.

I don't know the model, but it is a Perkins.   Cat bought Perkins several years ago.

I don't know about that but I can't find anything Perkins related on my pro 300. All CAT here.

Thanks cmays. The cat dealer should know, I'll check with them. I figured it would say it on machine.

One of My friends had a chipper with a Cat/Perkins, a larger engine than on the welders. People in the trade call them "Kitty Cats", they are a new design and don't look like an older Perkins. I don't know what is on the welders.

Some Cats are Mitsubishi's with yellow paint. Check Miller's website should tell you model number on it.

I don't know about all cats in millers but at least one model is a perkapiller, it's cat yellow with a cat tag and cat filters but has Perkins cast into the block. Identical engine to a Perkins 404d.
