Question,Qualified a procedure A387, Gr11, Group 1, M#4 (unlisted base metal in D1.1). Base from AWS B2.1, 2.3.10, can I use my 387 PQR and write a WPS for welding A335, Grade P11, Group1, M#4, this is also considering 2.3.12 In which both are listed in ASME IX. I also have to consider I will be joining a RFWN from SA 182, M#1,Group 4. This is kicking my Butt need advice.

rshanks,
The reason no one has responded is your question is confusing.
You posted in the AWS D1.1 section, mentioned AWS B2.1, mentioned ASME and then mentioned RFWN (Raised Face Weld Neck) flange.
D1.1 and B2.1 are structural codes / standards and have no relevance to pressure piping (flanges).
Try reposting and I will see if I can help,
Regrds,
Shane

I agree with Shane, your info is confusing. What code was the welding procedure qualified to, and what code applies to the work that is being performed? It would not be appropriate to qualify the WPS to AWS D1.1 or B2.1 to use on a piping system with A335-P11 pipe and A182-F11(?) RFWN flanges.

The A387,Grade 11 was qualified on plate,to AWS D1.1 in which the Spec called out. I have a new job coming up and the spec also calls out AWS D1.1, I will have 2" to 8", A335, Grade 11 pipe on this job, Both A387 and A335 being 1-1/4% chromium and 1/2% Moly. Planed filler A5.29,B2-L. With this being said, I know neither are listed base metals in D1.1. My previous question was all from AWS B2.1 out of procedure qualification based from nomenclature from 2.3.10 -2.3.12. Quote from 2.3.12 (AWS B2.1)  Base Metals listed in Annex IV or listed in ASME,Section IX, shall be considered listed materials.(Listed in Both). Can I use my Qualified  PQR, A387 plate procedure, Write a A335 WPS for pipe test my guys 1GR ? I'm pobably going to get told no, I should qualify A335, Grade 11, 2" pipe, just thinking out loud. Wish this Company had a true weld engineer. I've wrote alot of procedures and had them approved from some big names in the Power Generation Ind. From C-276 and on, some just are tough for me, I allways think I'm doing it wrong. I hope this shed's more light, Probaly will need a copy of B.2 to make since

rshanks,
Still does not make sense.
AWS D1.1 is a Structural Welding code and clearly states in the scope that it does not apply to pressure piping.
Generally when welding pipes or tubes to D1.1 it is for bracing - pretty sure no-one is going to use chromolly pipes for bracing.

Shane
